Paul prays in Ephesians 1:18 ... "I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope of His calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, & His incomparably great power for us who believe."
That word "enlightened" is the Greek word, fo-tid-zoe, meaning "to give light, to shine, to light up, etc." It's the same word used in John 1:9 to describe Jesus' person & work... "There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man."
Paul's prayer seems to be for the Christians in Asia Minor to experience the blessings that come from cooperating in the four-fold pattern (Love - Light - Receiving the Light / Faith - Life). He prays that they receive the light so that life can take shape!
