Father, make us to pray...

O Father, You are life. ... simplicity & complexity ... purity & knowledge ... power & gentleness ... passion & wisdom ... transcendence & immanence ...

You are as air to breathe, water to drink, food to eat, light to the eyes, music to the heart... You are the Good. You are the Personal One.

I have heard Your call to pray in humble discipline. You have called us, Your people, again & again to the place of deepest whispers. You have asked ... for ... our ... time. We do not give it, Father. I, only now, am learning to give it. We make excuses & mishandle Scripture to justify a lifestyle of preferences. Oh, the shame of our actions. If only we were not so blind as to not see the naked folly of such escapism. You are not a God to be escaped! Nor do Your faithful want such a path. We are leaves on You, our strong tree. We flitter & twist in the wind, holding dearly to You & hoping the miracle of Your life will defy the cold air we feel coming. While others dry & crack & discolor... we sink our entire heart's hope into You.

The power of prayer is not only in our approach, Lord. I know the power of our prayer is in the quantity of time we give to it. Should we pray but a little, then we must only expect a little. Should we pray much, then we must expect much!

Father... Oh my Father... please make us... make me... to pray better!

... Justin & Sheli ... Kim & Toussaint ... Matt & Adrienne ... Josh ... Aleta ... Michelle ... the cruise ... this church ... our community ... next year's transition ... Edward ... Graham & Andrea ... Sam & Luci ... Amanda ... Anthony ... the Frey family ... Kurt & Faith ... Gary ... Les ... Justin ... Ron & Sandy ... Mom ... Dad ... more ... more ... more ... Ben & Dierdre ... Nate ... Nate ... Mary ... Steve & his girls ... O Lord, more ... my heart ... my lifestyle ... more ...
