Are We "Good"?

What does it mean to be "good"?

Genesis 1:31 says that God saw all that was created, including humanity, and judged it "very good." But Psalm 14:3 and Romans 3:12 say that "There is no one who does good, not even one."

So are we "good"? And what does it mean to be "good"?

Holy? Pure? Perfect? in harmony with God? reflecting Him? testimony to Him?

Interesting follow on is what "good" looks like post Gen 3?

That's a great question.
Jesus even responds one time saying, "Why do you call me good, for no one is good but God." (Of course he's inferring that he is God here)...
But if no one if good but God, are we good?

I tend to think as Duncan said, that "God saw that it was good..."
Even in our fallen state, and even in the fallen universe in which we live, there is something good, within it all because we are God's creation....

That

That doesn't make us redeemed, but it does make us good...

"Good" question. Well deservingly we should all provide further thought and follow up. We're each responsible to an answer. Thanks! Best regards, df
