Women's Day

In the beginning, God created humanity in His own divine image as a twofold creation: male and female (Genesis 1:27). After that, He explains His own character throughout Scripture as twofold: truth and love. It’s no accident that we were made into two genders. In us, God expresses His twofold character of truth and love, with women symbolizing love and men symbolizing truth (Ephesians 5:33). These two interdependent realities makeup the essence of God and the essence of humanity!

What’s powerful for us on Women's (Mother's) Day is in considering where love falls in the ranking of God’s values. It’s number one... every single time. There’s a little verse in 1 Corinthians 13:13 that says, “Now faith, hope, and love, live in these three; but the greatest of these is love.” Women embody that !

Women have the preeminent task of teaching humanity how to love. They embody that lesson by simply being who they are, celebrating the intuitive and relational sensibility that is so foreign to men (no offense guys).

Mother's Day is an opportunity to celebrate all women... young and old, single and married, mother or daughter... for all women embody the love of our Creator, as those who bear God’s image. It’s their gift to humanity and to the body of Christ. So, with that celebration in mind, we eagerly say to all women...

... Thank you!
